Nothing here ever grew from nothing No one learned to speak by themselves Yet they insist to patent progress The future gets postponed or shelved So much that can’t be said, just stuck inside your head You'll just have to work around it They've got the law in hand, business models planned What they cannot see is that no one will make it alone I’ll keep on moving if you’ll keep on moving They’ll cling to the past as it falls They’ve got the paper but we’ve got the pencils We will carve the writing in the walls From Disney's Classics to the Bible All remixed the past into something new When you can't stand on shoulders of the giants, they will forever block your view And they say don't re-invent the wheel, they sell it and it's a steal They say you can't go without it But change is coming on and soon they'll all be gone Because they cannot see is that no one will make it alone I’ll keep on moving if you’ll keep on moving They’ll cling to the past as it falls They’ve got the paper but we’ve got the pencils We will carve the writing in the walls

You've got your liberty and you've got everything we need, endless alleys of products to choose from But is this the kind of freedom you would stand up and sing songs about passionately when you were young Don't count the cars, don't count the cars Count the people on the bus Don't count the cops, don't count the cops Count the smiles And you'll know how rich we are The times treated you well and your new house in the hills has the same view you once were opposing You keep on adding up and post-purchase rationalize so you don't risk the values you've gained And I really can't tell if you sold out All I know is you bought in You stay distracted by the decoys Ready to bite the hook again You tried to change the world but didn't make it So you changed yourself instead Should you ever wonder where that got us Then count the smiles And you'll know how rich we are

Stöj Snak is a SCREAMER-SONGWRITER project from Aalborg, DENMARK.

Musically and creatively Stöj Snak is shaped by the punk scene. And though Stöj Snak is a step away from punk and the limitations of a traditional band, the political engagement, raw energy and anarchistic DIY approach is still very visible in the songwriting. ... more
